Happy Birthday, Carl!

It's difficult to believe that one year is gone. The gifts are unwrapped, the cake has been eaten, and the birthday boy is asleep. I sit here wondering where the last year has gone. There have been so many changes in so little time. It's amazing how much happens in the first year. One year ago today, our little boy spent the day sleeping. Today he points at things. I can say "hair" and he will stroke the hair on his head. I can say "tree" and he will point to a tree. Amazing. We still await the first official word. There have been mumblings that sound like words, but nothing that is a word. That time is coming -- soon, very soon. :-) One birthday gone, seventeen more to go!
